1337
A numerical translation for "elite" pronounced "leet". The “1” resembles an “L”, the “3” resembles a backwards “E”, and the “7” resembles a “T”. Making sentences with numbers is known as “leetspeak”.

<3
ASCII representation of a heart (sideways). Represents the giving of love.

+1
A way of seconding what another player has said. Usually a “+1” follows a quotation of another player.

Acc
Short for "account".

Add
Term to describe additional monsters that attack while one is already engaged in battle.

AE
See “AOE”.

AFK
Acronym for “away from keyboard”.

AFAIK
Acronym for “as far as I know”.

Aggro
General term used for the way mobs react to players, i.e. aggressiveness. Players pulling "aggro" did something to anger a mob or mobs that drew an attack. This generally is caused by venturing within a certain distance of the mob(s), or initiating combat with them yourself.

Aggro radius
The radius around the mob(s) where they will take notice and attack you.

AGI
Agility, one of 6 character attributes in Rohan: Blood Feud.

AI
Artificial intelligence.

AKA
Acronym for “also known as”.

Alt
Short for “alternate”, a secondary character that one plays, as opposed to a “main” which is the main character one plays.

AOE
Acronym for “area of effect” or “area effect”. This term is used for spells/abilities that work in a certain range, rather than on a single mob/player.

ASAP
Acronym for “as soon as possible”.

ASL
Acronym for "Age, Sex, Location". Usually appears as a question between online players, "ASL?"

ATM
Acronym for “at the moment”.

Ban
The act of removing a player from the game, usually as a result of Terms of Service violation. Can be temporary or permanent.

BB
Acronym for "Bye Bye".

Bio Break
Bathroom break.

Bot
A character controlled by an illegal 3rd party program.

BRB
Acronym for “Be Right Back”.

BRT
Acronym for "Be Right There".

BTW
Acronym for “by the way”.

Buff
Refer to preparatory actions taken prior to combat, usually involving the casting of spells. Can be offensive or defensive.

Bug
Technical game error or glitch.

Camping
The act of waiting in an area to hunt a specific mob or a specific spawn.

Carebear
Usually used as an insult against a player that prefers to live their online lives as nice and friendly characters, rather than destructive ones.

Class
A specific type of character, signifying a role or profession (i.e. Guardian, Avenger, etc.)

CC
See “Crowd Control”.

Cooldown
The waiting time before a spell, item or skill can be used again.

Crit
Critical hit. "To crit" refers to landing a critical hit either with melee or spells. Effective damage is usually increased with extra skills/buffs.

Crowd Control
Methods used to control crowds of mobs like stunning and rooting. Crowd control is an important group support ability when fighting multiple mobs.

CYA
Text speak for "see ya".

De-Buff or Debuff
The opposite of a buff. An offensive spell cast on enemies that weakens an attribute or combat ability.

DEX
Dexterity, one of 6 character attributes in Rohan: Blood Feud.

DK
Acronym for "Dekan Knight".

DMG
Abbreviation for “damage”.

DoT
Acronym for “damage over time”. Refers to effects that, when placed on a target, cause continuous damage over a predetermined period of time.

DPS
Acronym for “damage per second”. Used when figuring out weapon speed and corresponding damage rate.

Drop
Treasure, money or items carried by mobs and dropped when killed. Players can pick up these items off the ground and keep them.

DS
Acronym for "Dekan Sage".

Emoticon
A sequence of printable characters such as Smile or ^_^, that is intended to represent a human facial expression and convey an emotion. Use in internet forums, texting and instant-messaging.

Emotes
Way of expressing how you feel in the game thru commands that create text or animated reactions from your character. Similar to an emoticon.

Epic
Describing the extreme rarity of a piece of equipment ("epic shield", "epic armor"), or the extreme difficulty of an encounter or quest. Or, in the case of the forums, to describe a particularly fantastic thread or post (i.e. “Epic post, ,dude!”)

EXP
Experience points. A quantity gained when completing tasks/quests, killing mobs, etc. When enough experience is accrued, characters “level up” and become more powerful.

Farming
The act of accumulating currency or a specific item by repeatedly killing a mob or repeatedly performing a series of actions.

FFS
Short for “Forefoot Swing”, a skill in the game. Also used in forums as an acronym for “For F*ck’s Sake!”

FTW
Acronym for “for the win”. Refers to the act, ability, event that's responsible for a victory in life. For example, "Winged Foot FTW!!"

FWIW
Acronym for “”for what it's worth”.

FYI
Acronym for “for your information”.

Gank
To gang up on a player, outnumbering him and killing him, or to attack another player while they're trying to fight a monster.

GG
Acronym for “Good Going” or "Good Game".

GH
Acronym for "Gathering Hall" (i.e. Ehres Harbor on the Rohan map).

Gimp
A character who doesn’t live up to his or her full potential, often using low level equipment or focusing on poor skill combinations.

GL
Good Luck. Also Group Leader or Guild Leader.

Glass Cannon
Slang term for a ranged fighter with a very powerful attack, but very weak defense.

GM
1. Acronym for "Game Master - Someone to assist and help players. GM's are employees of the game's creator company. They monitor the actions of the game world and answer the questions and complaints of the players. If an in-game crime committed is serious enough, they can ban players permanently from the game.
2. Acronym for "Guild Master"

Gratz or Grats
Short for "Congratulations".

Griefer
A person who purposely tries to annoy or anger other players.

GTG or G2G
Acronym for “got to go”.

Guild
An organization of players. Guilds are supported by in-game systems that allow for sharing of resources, experiences, and information with other members. In typical games, players must use a substantial amount of capital to start the guild.

Gz
Short for "Gratz".

HE
Acronym for "Half Elf".

HP
Hit points or Health Points.

IC
Text speak for “I see”.

IMBA
Short for "imbalanced".

IMO or IMHO
Acronym for “In My Opinion” or “In My Humble Opinion”.

INC
Abbreviation for "incoming". When a tank pulls for group, the tank will use this as warning that a mob is incoming.

INT
Intelligence, one of 6 character attributes in Rohan: Blood Feud.

IRL
Acronym for “In Real Life”.

J/K
Acronym for “Just kidding”.

K or KK
Short for “O.K.” or “okay”.

Kiting
A style of combat in which a player continually stays out of combat range of an enemy usually by running from it, while simultaneously causing damage to it. Usually done by a ranged fighter.

KoS
Acronym for "Kill on Sight". Usually used to refer to characters who are disliked by a particular guild. E.g., "After ganking several of our guild's members, we put RedRyder on the guild's KoS list".

KS
Acronym for “Kill Stealing”. When another player attacks the same creature as another player and receives the reward for the kill instead of the person who originated combat.

L2
Text speak for "Learn To...". Usually followed by a verb, such as read, play, type, etc. Typically used as an insult.

Lag
Latency with regards to the connection to the game server.

Leveling
Fighting monsters with the purpose of gaining a level with the experience gained for each kill.

LFP
Acronym for "Looking For Party".

LMAO
Acronym for “Laughing My Ass Off”.

LOC
Short term for "location", which will usually be represented in the game as an X,Y,Z coordinate for the area you are in, or as a Dot on a map. It usually is used to tell where you are but can also be used in order to refer to a specific place.

LOL
Acronym for “Laughing Out Loud”. Indicates something is really funny.

Loot
To take the treasure from a monster that has been killed or from a chest.

Lowbie
A player character that is of a low level.

LVL
Short for “level”.

Macro
Programming term applied to user-made scripts that can automatically send messages, cast spells, or a variety of other functions. Mainly used to automate things that are repetitious in order to expedite gameplay.

Main
Your primary character of all the characters you play.

Mats
Short for “materials”.

Meh
Indifference, used when one simply does not care. The verbal equivalent of a shrug of the shoulders.

MMO
Acronym for “Massively Multiplayer Online”. Surprised Smile

MMOG
Acronym for “Massively Multiplayer Online Game”.

MMORPG
Acronym for “Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game”.

MOB or Mob
Acronym for “Mobile Object Block”. Mobs are all computer controlled characters in the game, usually used to describe computer-controlled monsters.

Mule
A character made solely for storing items to backup the players main character.

Nerf
To downgrade, to be made softer, or make less effective.

Newbie or Newb
New player.

Newbie Zone
Area around starting cities where new players first start killing mobs. Usually a location nearby their birthplace, and characterized by low level mobs.

NPC
Acronym for “non player-controlled character”. The characters are controlled by the game’s AI.

N00b or Noob
See “Newbie or Newb”.

No prob
No problem.

NP
See “No prob”.

Nuke
To shower a target with damage spells.

NVM
Text speak for “Never mind.”

OIC
Text speak for “Oh, I see”.

OMG
Acronym for "Oh my God", used to express surprise about something.

OMW
Acronym for “On my way”.

OP
1. Short for "overpowered".
2. Acronym for "Original Poster" as in the person to start a thread.

ORLY
Text speak for "Oh, really?”

Owned / Own
To totally dominate another player in a PvP battle (see “pwn”).

Party
A group of players fighting together.

Patch
A downloadable update that fixes bugs, improves stability and/or introduces new features and content to the game. Patches are auto-downloaded in Rohan: Blood Feud when you start the game from the launcher.

Perma-ban
A “permanent ban”, usually by a GM towards a rulebreaking player.

Ping
Response time from client to server; measured in milliseconds.

PK
Acronym for “Player Kill”.

Plz
Text speak for “Please”.

PMSL
Acronym for "Peeing Myself Laughing".

Port
Short for “teleport”, as in to instantly move from one part of the game world to another.

POV
Acronym for “Point of View”.

PSY
Psyche, one of 6 character attributes in Rohan: Blood Feud.

Pull
A standard mob hunting strategy where a player lures a single or a group of mobs to the party so that the group can most effectively dispatch them. Ranged classes are usually considered “pullers” because they can reach mobs from a distance, drawing aggro and “pulling” them towards the party.

PvE
Acronym for “Player vs. Environment”. Combat between players and computer controlled opponents.

PvP
Acronym for “Player vs. Player”. Combat between players.

Pwn or Pwned
Text speak derived from the word "own," meaning to defeat some other entity in battle or other form of competition. The "pwned" origin is from an online game, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."

QFT
Acronym for “quoted for truth”.

QFE
Acronym for “quoted for emphasis”.

QQ
An emoticon that represents eyes crying. Used as both an emoticon and a verb. As an emoticon, it is usually a sarcastic reply to someone else's complaint or rant. In that setting, it is similar to "go cry me a river" or "oh boo-hoo". As a verb, it stands in for "complaining about" - e.g., "All the Scouts are QQ-ing about a nerf".

Quest
An adventure taken on by a party or individual, usually given by an NPC. There are objectives to quests, which usually result in payment and/or follow-up quests.

Race
There are 7 races in Rohan: Blood Feud -- Humans, Dekans, Elves, Half Elves, Dark Elves, Dhans & Giants.

RDY
Text speak for "ready".

Res or Rez
Short for “resurrect”.

Re-Spawn
A monster that has been killed and has been created again.

RMT
Acronym for “Real Money Trade”. The (usually illegal) practice of selling virtual currency for real currency.

ROFL
Acronym for "Rolling on the floor laughing", a stronger version of lol.

Root
To trap a target (mob or enemy player) in place using a skill.

RR
Short for "RedRyder", member of the YNK Interactive staff and one of the moderators in this forum.

Server
The physical equipment that the game world lives on. Rohan: Blood Feud has 5 servers, each running the game independently of one another. They are Torian, Silva, Syrephis, Ahkma, and Marea.

SES
Acronym for "Skill Enhancement Stone".

Skills
Various abilities that characters are capable of using. Each race has their own set of skills, as does each class. Skills can be enhanced by attributing “skill points” that are earned with each level that is gained.

Solo or Soloing
The act of playing alone, or hunting mobs alone.

Spawn
Mobs typically appear (spawn) in a general area on a general schedule. This can be both a verb and noun.

Spec
Short for specification.

Squishy
Slang term for a defensively weak character.

STA
Stamina.

Stack
A number of identical items placed in a single inventory slot, to conserve space. Also may refer to buffs. Only certain items and buffs can be stacked.

Stun
A form of crowd control skill that immobilizes an enemy.

STR
Strength, one of 6 character attributes in Rohan: Blood Feud.

Support class
A class that can’t really fight on his own, mainly used to assist groups. Healers are typically referred to as a support class.

Tank
As a noun, refers to character classes that can take a lot of damage in a fight. As a verb, refers to the act of drawing aggro from mobs before other team members strike with their abilities.

Taunt
Related to Aggro. An ability that allows a player to pull the attention of a monster off of another player and onto him- or herself. Taunt is also a skill in Rohan: Blood Feud.

TB
Acronym for "Township Battle", the 5-times-per-week guild wars that happen in Rohan: Blood Feud.

TBA
Acronym for “To Be Announced”.

TBD
Acronym for “To Be Determined”.

TBH
Acronym for "To Be Honest".

Threat
Related to Aggro. This is what a character "gives off" to generate or draw monster aggro.

Thx
Short for “Thanks” or “Thank You”.

TOS
Acronym for "Terms of Service", a published set of rules that requires all players to abide by. Our Terms of Service can be found here: http://www.playrohan.com/tos.html

TSB
See "TB".

Toon
Some people refer to their character as their toon (short for “cartoon”).

TTYL
Acronym for "Talk To You Later".

Twink
A low level character who has been made more powerful by higher level characters, usually by getting stronger armor and weapons than the character would normally have at such a low level.

TY
See "Thx".

U
Txt speak for “You”.

Uber
German slang for 'super', originally meaning 'over'. Exceptionally powerful.

Ur
Txt speak for “Your”.

VIT
Vitality, one of 6 character attributes in Rohan: Blood Feud.

WB
Acronym for “Welcome Back”.

Where @?
Txt speak for "Where at?", as in "Where are you?".

Wipe
Often, when games move from their closed beta period to their open beta period, accounts are “wiped” or deleted.

w00t or woot
Exclamation of joy.

WTB
Acronym for “Want To Buy”.

WTF
Acronym for “What The F*ck”. An expression of shock or disbelief.

WTG
Acronym for “Way To Go!”.

WTH
Acronym for “What The Hell”. An expression of shock or disbelief.

WTS
Acronym for “Want To Sell”.

XP or EXP
Short for “Experience Points” or “Experience”. A quantity gained when completing tasks/quests, killing mobs, etc. When enough experience is accrued, characters “level up” and become more powerful.

Zerg
A combat strategy where a large group of players rush in at the target. Seen as a simple-minded strategy that requires no skill.
